Remodeled For Our Boys

Today I want to show you a quick RV flip we did for our boys. Needing some (cough) space from the teenagers we purchased a 1988 Wilderness Yukon by Fleetwood travel trailer. We demo'd the entire trailer and converted it into a 2 bedroom hangout zone. Here's what it looked like before...

Not bad, just dated, What we really needed was a blank canvas, so we got to work...

Demo Day!

Carpet, walls, and insulation were taken out.

The shower, toilet, and sink were removed.

As so were the adjoining bunk beds.

RV Demo Living Room and Back

In the living room we removed the couch for painting and the small counter top that served as the tv area.

Creating the blank canvas...

Kitchen/Dining Room made into bedroom

Once demo was finished we built a wall to separate the front that was the kitchen/dining room into a bedroom, and built a twin bed with accessible storage underneath. We took advantage of the space from where the fridge was and added shelves making a closet and shoe storage on the bottom.

Primed RV Living Room

New panels went up where the shower and sink left gaping holes. Everything was sprayed with a Zinsser Primer.

Back Bedroom Primed

As you can see, that 'blank canvas' look is coming along!

Here is the back bedroom. We replaced the subfloor after walking on soft squeaky spots when the shower and tub was out.

Now its a nice box, were ready for color!

Color!

Finished RV Trailer Remodel

Maybe I'm crazy, but I let my boys choose what color they each wanted for their rooms. As you can see, they compliment each other nicely...not....but, to each their own.

I added some grey and white in the living room to help calm the loudness and also added a longer plywood counter top to hold their precious Playstion stuff.

We used cheap laminate flooring, like $.68/sq ft cheap, but it came out just fine for my boys, they've even spilled on it already and cleaned right up! Love not having carpet!

After a summer of use we sold it to hunters and moved on...to the next adventure!
