98' Fifth Wheel Reno - Lighting from Above

After having to rip the ceiling out due to mold we took it upon ourselves to go all out. Why not if we have to start all over anyways?! So we begin with the lights.

After much research we landed on the idea of smart LED lighting. Yes, the kind you use an app with your phone or tablets! They use little energy (only 14 watts) and can be customized to dim and adjust Soft White to Daylight.

We purchased 8 of these bad boys from Home Depot and even though it was well over $200 it would've been almost as much purchasing non smart can lights, bulbs, and switches. You do need a Wink Hub for the smart lights which costs $30. Just one problem I had with them.

They are so white! Not the rustic look I'm going for.

As cool as they were going to be I needed the white gone. So we paint!

Unscrew 3 to separate light
Light separated for painting

I began by separating the LED from the ring so it could be safely sprayed.

3 screws come out and the ring comes apart.

Once separated it's ready to paint!

Rust-Oleum Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze

I needed to overcome the hospital sterilization white and for that I looked to my trusty Rust-Oleum All Surface Metallic Satin Oil Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint and primer in 1.
