Today we prep the ceiling in our Fifth Wheel Renovation
Gettin' it done...
1. First Insulation - we choose a "mineral wool" material from Home Depot by Owens Coming. This is R-15 grade and provides fire protection, thermal insulation, and noise control.
This cut like butter with a Grip-Rite knife.
After insulation we tack up plastic to hold the insulation in place and provide a vapor barrier between rafters and the flooring that will be layered next.
2. Plastic Sheeting Vapor Barrier - when tacking up plastic you'll also find a staple hammer-tacker handy.
We have insulation and plastic done, now for the fun stuff - the FLOORING...for the ceiling!
